Founder & DIRECTOR

Lisette Aguero Peña was born in Habana, Cuba and as a child demonstrated her love for music and dance. In 1981-1982 she was accepted to the State School for Sport Activities where she practiced rhythmic gymnastics. In 1983 she was selected as a student in the Provincial

School of Ballet in Cuba (Alejo Carpentier). She then went on to continue her studies at the National School of Art, where she graduated with a degree in Artist Variety and Musical Spectaculars. During this time she participated in two self-made choreographies in the Choreographic Festival. At this festival she was recognized and awarded for the originality of her work. Having not yet graduated, she was chosen for a tour, which allowed her to go on to appear on T.V. and perform in major theatres in South America.

Lisette worked as a dancer with many of the most important orchestras in Cuba. Under the artistic direction of Santiago Alfonso, she performed in Italy as a dancer for Tropicana, the most famous dancing company in Cuba. She performed in many of the important theatres in Italy, including The Emerald of Milan, The Sistine Rome, L’August Napales, Ariston of Sanremo, Sporting Monte Carlos, the Casino of Italian Champions, and many others. She also appeared in the Italian television shows RAI and Mediaset. She worked as a soloist until 1995. She has been involved in the dance world as a dancer and choreographer. She has received numerous awards. She has been a member of National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (NUCWA) since September of 1997.

On Women’s Day in 2005, Lisette was awarded the International Beato Angelico. She was invited and performed the Vignale Dance near Turin, Italy. In December of 2007, she organized a cultural exchange with a dance school in Valencia, where she was selected as the guest performer of the year. She was involved and performed in numerous cultural events and concerts under the direction of the prestigious Cuban directors Habana de Primera, Adalberto Alvarez, and Maykel Blanco. Among classical works she has performed in many, including, La Bayadere, Corsair, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Carmen, Pas de Deux from Don Quixote, Peter and the Wolf, Coppelia, La Fille Mal Gardee, Alice in Wonderland, Sheherazade, The Nutcracker, Grand Pas de Quatre, Esmeralda, Flowers Genzano, Les Sylphides, The Countrymen Ballet Giselle, Skaters, The Works of Creation as Flavors of Nepal, Sinbad the Sailor, Snow White, Cinderella, The Grasshopper and the Ants (inspired by Aesop’s Fable) and numerous other creations.

She has a vast repertoire of music choreography, including Contemporary, African, Latin, and Caribbean folk dances. She has created a methodological program to train instructors. She has versatility as a Master choreographer, capable of transmitting love, knowledge, and sensitivity through dance and art in general.

Finally in 2016, she founded an Art Dance Academy in South Gate city in California, USA.
